Dr. Chase Banks primarily focuses on those looking to maintain and or advance on a healthy lifestyle through fitness goals. Dr. Banks strives to cover all your health concerns by taking into account the schedule, limitations, and action steps required to attain a goal. Dr. Banks develops customized meal plans and you will receive grocery lists, motivational literature, and healthy recipes. Activity levels, age, gender, lean mass, hormone response, and genetics differ for each individual.

During the initial consult, a comprehensive analysis of medical history, blood work, genetic tendencies, and diet trends are discussed with Dr. Banks. Recommendations/supplements, medical conditions, food allergies, intolerances/insensitivities, and even genetics and palette appeal are all covered in the nutritional consults.

Stress is a global concept in the body and is the single limiting factor to one attaining results. Stress comes in many different forms, physical, environmental/chemical, hormonal, physiological, and certainly nutritional.

Understanding triggers in these areas is a key focus for improvement occur. Dr. Banks uses a simple model called the Super Compensation Theory as it can be applied outside of fitness where it is illustrated the most (see picture Figure 1). Fitness and Health are part of a simple equation of Stress + Rest.

Our Take on Nutrition

80% of achieving one’s fitness goals comes from what he or she puts on their plate. Nutritional advice and meal plans are a large integral part of Finish First. Whether its weight loss, muscle gain, chronic illness, or a healthy family lifestyle we can develop a comprehensive plan specifically designed for you. We do offer template plans for those who have a good grasp of nutritional concepts pertaining to their goals and who just need a little planning and direction.

We can develop plans that cover all of your meals, supplement concerns, and activity/fitness recommendations. We offer several different options and plans, which can be customized for the specific metabolism and health concerns of the individual. We currently have three specialists who can cater to each individual’s needs and health concerns.

Dr. Banks’ approach to Nutrition is based on his background in Functional Medicine. This systems and biology-based approach focus on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease.

As the graphic illustrates, a diagnosis can be the result of more than one cause. For example, depression can be caused by many different factors, including inflammation. Likewise, a cause such as inflammation may lead to several different diagnoses, including depression.

The precise manifestation of each cause depends on the individual’s genes, environment, and lifestyle, and only treatments that address the right cause will have lasting benefits beyond symptom suppression. Dr. Banks’ treatment is highly effective at utilizing a patient’s history, breaking down their lifestyle, and applying several tests from stool testing to genetic testing to discover the root cause of her patient’s health concerns.
