DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Golden Salutem was specially designed and formulated to help support the immune system’s homeostatic response to inflammation. Life/environmental stressors, poor diet, lack of sleep/exercise, improper hydration and genetics all play a cumulative role in the body’s inflammatory load. Intracellular inflammation can lead to impaired biochemical pathways, denature cell structures such as mitochondria (the power producer of cells) and even impact DNA. It is well documented that inflammation is the major driver of illness and disease states. Golden Salutem delivers a comprehensive support blend of nutraceuticals and neotropics to help improve your body’s natural ability to restore proper inflammation recognition and control.

Why these specific ingredients?

Medium-chain triglycerides – (technically called “medium chain fatty acids” but more commonly referred to as MCTs) are a unique form of fat with impressive health benefits. One of the basic ways fats are categorized is by their carbon chain length. Compared to long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs), which are the predominant fats in the American diet (found in most vegetable oils and animals fats), MCTs are shorter in length, containing 6 to 12 carbons as compared to 14 or more carbons found in their long-chain counterparts. This smaller size sets MCTs apart and gives them distinct properties. MCTs absorb quicker and allow the body to utilize it as a freeform fatty acid for immediate energy. MCTs improve the absorption of lipophilic products such as CBD, turmeric, black cumin seed and ginger, hence the design to have it included in Golden Salutem to enhance the synergistic effects of these active ingredients.

Turmeric Powder –
turmerichas been researched for its impact on immune cells. Results showed it had three-fold increase in phagocytic (engulf inflammation) ability. Due to its multiple effects on genes and ability to pursue multiple inflammatory targets, turmeric has proven uses as an immune-boosting agent.

Ginger Root Powder – is well-regarded for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and immune-supportive properties. Ginger has been shown to induce differentiation and viability of macrophages, and led to greater release of pathogen-targeting nitric oxide from macrophages. Ginger also increased expression of cell adhesion molecules on macrophages, enhancing their ability to bind to and engulf pathogenic organisms.

Black Cumin Seed Powder –
has been widely employed in Ayurvedic medicine for their roles in supporting a healthy inflammatory response. The seeds are also used for inflammation and are employed to reduce asthma and bronchitis symptoms and to treat rheumatoid arthritis. A substantial number of studies have been conducted that suggest the seeds may indeed have pharmacological potential. The seeds contain a variety of chemicals, but most of the pharmacological properties of black cumin are attributed to the presence of quinine compounds, of which thymoquinone is the most abundant. There is clinical evidence that the seeds have antimicrobial, anti-parasitic, and antifungal properties, and some animal studies have demonstrated tumor suppression.

Cordyceps Sinensis –
too much inflammation can lead to illness and diseases. Research has shown that when human cells are exposed to Cordyceps, special proteins that increase inflammation in the body become suppressed. Thanks to these potential effects, researchers believe Cordyceps may serve as a useful anti-inflammatory supplement.

Reishi Mushroom-
has been shown to possess immune-supportive and anti-microbial properties, and also supports normal blood glucose metabolism and liver health.

Lion’s Mane –
research has found that lion’s mane may protect against dementia, reduce mild symptoms of anxiety and depression and help repair nerve damage. It also has strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immune-boosting abilities and been shown to lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, ulcers and diabetes in animals.

Ceylon Cinnamon –
native to Sri Lanka, Ceylon cinnamon is a spice that is made from the inner bark of evergreen trees. Due to its phytochemicals and antioxidant content, Ceylon cinnamon can help boost the immune system. It also has proven anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-biotic, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties, which can help fight infections & viruses. Ceylon cinnamon can act as a natural digestive aid, reducing indigestion, nausea, upset stomach, and more. Because of its’ carminative properties, Ceylon cinnamon can also aid in relieving flatulence.

Quercetin – is a plant-derived flavonoid found in many common foods including apple, tea, onion, nuts, berries, cauliflower and cabbage. Quercetin shows anti-inflammatory action by its direct antioxidant action and inhibition of inflammatory mediators and enzymes, such as lipoxygenase. Quercetin and vitamin C also inhibit the release of histamine, which causes congestion, by basophils and mast cells. Studies have shown an improved lung function and lower risk of certain respiratory diseases (i.e., asthma and bronchitis) in people with high apple (rich in quercetin) intake.

N-Acetyl Cysteine –
is an amino acid that is a precursor to glutathione, the body’s most powerful antioxidant. NAC is heavily researched in bronchial and lung disorders. It is also used for rapid recovery after workouts. NAC can be used in any cases where there is a need to rebuild the liver and promotes optimal detoxification. It is also researched for protection from heavy metal damage.

Green Tea Extract – Green Tea Extract (Camellia sinensis) has been standardized to contain 98% polyphenols and 45% epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg). EGCg is the most powerful bioactive constituent among green tea extract; it has been shown to be one of the most potent immunoregulatory and anti-inflammatory flavonoids. A randomized control trial showed that Camellia sinensis intake significantly enhanced T cell function and is safe and effective for helping to prevent cold and flu symptoms.

Vitamin C – is widely known for its immunoprotected properties. Citrus bioflavonoids (where vitamin C is derived) are part of the greater category of bioactive substances called polyphenols, which are a large group of naturally-occurring antioxidant compounds present in plant-based foods. Dietary polyphenols have beneficial effects against a broad group of conditions, particularly those that are inflammatory in pathology. In addition to supporting healthy immune function, these nutrients play a major role in maintaining healthy veins, capillaries, bones, tendons, skin, hair, and nails as vitamin C facilitates proper construction and repair of collagen, one of the body’s most abundant proteins

Astragalus Extract –
extracts made from the roots of Astragalus membranaceus have been shown to promote functions in both the innate and acquired immune responses. Human and animal in vitro studies have demonstrated its abilities to induce monocyte activation, migration and maturation, reverse abnormal gene expression, and inhibit cytokine productions by suppressing inflammatory signaling pathways. Moreover, it has been shown to stimulate T-cell mitosis, increase antibody response and lymphocyte development, activate human CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, and regulate the balance of certain cytokines.

Zinc Gluconate – zinc deficiency impacts immune function by slowing down the activity of macrophages, neutrophils, natural killer cells, and complement activity. Individuals with low zinc levels have shown below-normal immune activity that can be corrected by zinc supplementation. Low zinc status has been associated with increased risk of immune challenges. Chelated zinc offers a 230-390% better bioavailability than lesser quality supplemental forms.

Hydrazorb™ CBD -(HZH)
is Water Soluble Full Spectrum Hemp Powder containing a broad spectrum of cannabinoids including CBD. CBD balances the endocannabinoid system that is integrated into the body’s systems by modulating receptors. By improving these receptors, stress reduction occurs, sleep cycles improve, reduced inflammation and pain tolerance improvements are all observed.
